Senior Product Designer

  • On-site
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • Technical

You'll sit at the intersection of design and engineering, where you'll own the design of complex product flows while working closely with our frontend engineers to bring them to life.

Job description

About Fixico

Fixico is a fast-growing car damage repair platform, backed by world-class investors and scaling across Europe. Leasing companies, fleet and rental operators, and insurers trust us to manage their repairs at scale, from global brands to local players.

We're on a steep upward trajectory. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape what's next.

The role

You'll work at the intersection of design and engineering. You own complex, end-to-end product flows across our repairer-facing and customer-facing surfaces. You collaborate closely with frontend engineers to bring designs into production. You think in systems, work confidently in Figma, and understand enough about how the web works to keep your designs buildable.

You'll be the dedicated designer within one of our product teams. You own the experience for that team's domain and contribute to the shared design system that keeps our products consistent. You work closely with the product trio — product manager, engineering lead, and you — to set direction together. You translate company strategy into clear design opportunities and help raise the bar for how we build products at Fixico.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end design for your team's domain, from early concept to engineering handoff, with a strong focus on interaction design and technical feasibility

  • Partner closely with frontend engineers: think in components, design with implementation in mind, and stay involved through the build

  • Design complex, multi-step flows: AI-native repair intake, partner dashboards, repair tracking, and SLA management across web and mobile

  • Build and maintain scalable components in our design system (Figma and Token Studio, mapped to an MUI-based component library), so design and code stay in sync

  • Turn company strategy into concrete design opportunities and solutions

  • Run regular user testing and turn the insights into better work

  • Facilitate workshops with product, design, and engineering to drive alignment and momentum

  • Define and track outcome-based design metrics (such as usability scores and SUS) to measure real impact

  • Mentor other designers and help grow a strong, collaborative design culture

Job requirements

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in a SaaS, marketplace, or platform scale-up, with a good grasp of how business culture and processes shape the work

  • A strong systems thinker who stays pragmatic: you structure complexity, design for scale, make smart trade-offs, and ship rather than chase perfect

  • Hands-on experience with design systems and component-based design, fluent in Figma and component libraries

  • Strong interaction and UX skills: you design with logic and intent, not just aesthetics

  • A technical mindset: you understand frontend concepts (HTML, CSS, component architecture) and design accordingly

  • You use AI in your design process for rapid mockups, exploration, and speeding up the day-to-day

  • Comfortable in agile product teams, owning a domain end-to-end, and a clear communicator who can explain decisions and push back when it matters

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with design tokens (such as Token Studio) and component libraries like MUI

  • Comfort reading frontend code, even at a basic level

  • Experience with Jira and Miro

  • Background in usability testing and research methodologies

What's in it for you

  • A key role in building a leading European platform in the automotive space

  • A driven team where your work has real, visible impact

  • Office in the heart of Amsterdam, overlooking the Rijksmuseum, with a balcony for Friday drinks

  • Access to gym facilities and meeting rooms across The Collection

  • Daily fresh lunch and plenty of snacks

  • Bike lease through Fixico

  • Attractive pension plan

  • A flexible working environment

  • The option to work remotely from your home country for one week, twice a year

  • Fun team events throughout the year
