    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

Job description

About us:

We are Fixico, a fast-growing car damage repair marketplace, backed by world-class Silicon Valley-based investors, and scaling up rapidly throughout Europe. Trusted by fleet owners, leasing, rental, and insurance companies. Fixico has managed hundreds of thousands of repairs for companies ranging from the world's biggest brands to local players.

Fixico is on a constant upward trajectory and rapidly expanding throughout Europe. To continue our success we are looking for a Senior Product Designer. As Senior Product Designer, you will play an important role in both the execution and strategic development of the company's product design initiatives. Given the potential for a smaller team initially, this is a highly hands-on role where you will contribute directly to the day-to-day design tasks while also driving the long-term design strategy. You will ensure that design not only supports immediate product needs but also plays a critical role in shaping the company’s future.

This role requires a unique balance of leadership, hands-on design work, and strategic foresight, making you a key player in both the short-term success and the long-term vision of the company.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Transform company strategies (e.g., service expansions, improved communication) into actionable design opportunities.
  • Develop a long-term design strategy that leverages user feedback and data to enhance engagement, ensuring team alignment with strategic goals and future product roadmaps.
  • Mentor product designers, balancing immediate tasks with long-term objectives, fostering growth, and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for an agile, iterative design process with rapid prototyping and feedback loops through bi-weekly user testing. Balance immediate roadmap demands with strategic goals, creating a flexible, learning-focused approach.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly workshops with design, product, and engineering teams to drive innovation and alignment. Champion design thinking to ensure design's perspective shapes strategic discussions and strengthens cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Establish measurable improvements and track design KPIs, regularly reviewing product performance to increase efficiency, engagement, and usability.

Job requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of product design experience, ideally within a tech scale-up environment.

  • Proven ability to balance hands-on design work with strategic leadership; this is not a pure managerial role.

  • Strong experience in UX research, interaction design, and visual design principles. Experience working within agile product teams is a must.

  • Ability to work effectively in a lean team environment, contributing directly to design tasks while setting the strategic direction.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across departments and influence product direction.

  • Proficient in design tools like Figma, Jira, Miro, etc., and experience with design systems is preferred.

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to look ahead, coupled with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the execution.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in a marketplace or SaaS environment.

  • Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing frameworks.

  • Strong in opinion and vision, flexible in execution.

Don’t meet all the requirements? Don’t worry. At Fixico, success is not about meeting every single requirement on the job description, it’s about demonstrating your potential, adaptability and determination to excel!

What is in it for you?

  • The possibility to lease a bike through Fixico

  • An attractive pension plan

  • An open, flexible work environment in the heart of Amsterdam, overlooking the Rijksmuseum

  • A young, talented and extremely driven team, where you will work with all departments

  • Plenty of responsibilities and opportunities to grow

  • Daily freshly prepared lunch and plenty of snacks

  • Fun team events throughout the year, from outdoor summer activities to festive Christmas dinners
